Christian Jail Ministry Training session will be Sat, Apr 27, 9am–3:30p Training is at no charge; attending does not obligate you to become a CJM volunteer. This session will help give you a better understanding of ministry to prisoners and to learn about ministry at the Howard County Detention Center (HCDC), our local jail. Join the Church & Society team for the next road clean-up on June 10 at 11:00 a.m. Look for the orange sign in the parking lot after the 9:45 service or meet us on the road - Sanner Road between Pindell School and Johns Hopkins.

Church work day sponsored by the Board of Trustees.  Any additional work will be done on the morning of the 6th as part of Be the Church Sunday.  We plan to meet in CR2 at 1:00pm on the 5th to organize the activities.

If you have a heart for the ministries of Mount Zion and would like to serve in a behind the scenes role, the Finance Team might be a great opportunity for you. Mt. Zion is working with St. Paul‘s Lutheran in supporting the Trotor Christian Orphanage in Ghana. On January 25 St. Paul‘s will ship new and gently used shoes and new socks of any size to Trotor for children age 4 through high school. All types of shoes are needed including dress shoes (flat heels), tennis shoes and sandals. Shoes and socks can be placed in the specially marked box in the West Narthex any time through noon on Sunday, January 22. Working toward our goal of “Welcoming each and every person to Mt. Zion with the love of Christ”, the Hospitality Committee will host two training opportunities for Greeters on Sunday, Dec 4th (9:45 am or 12:15 pm) in the Fellowship Hall. All those interested in joining the Greeter Ministry Team, as well as, all current Greeters, are encouraged to attend.
