The UMM is for all men and boys of Mt. Zion. There is no secret handshake! Please join us for fellowship and service to Mt. Zion We have a great time and would like to share our fellowship with new and former members. Please take note of these upcoming activities:
In the past twelve months, the Mt. Zion United Methodist Men have sponsored or participated in these events to promote fellowship and service:
• A breakfast on Dec. 30, 2006 with Chaplain Chuck
Sehman as speaker
• The Sweethearts Dinner in February, with vocal
stylings by John Crow and cuisine prepared by Chef
Ryan Wiest
• Easter breakfast for the congregation
Mother-and-Daughter Dinner in May
• A breakfast on June 2 with Pastor Tom Connar as
speaker
• A breakfast on Sept. 1 with D-Day veteran John L.
Scott as speaker
• Renovation of the Choir Room under Trustees'
direction
• An Appalachian Trail hike on South Mountain
Nov. 3 with lunch at Pastor Malcolm Stranathan's
home in Boonsboro
After several years as President, Dave Ball stepped down in 2007. Thanks for years of UMM service, Dave!
In 2008, the UMM aspires to sponsor additional opportunities for Christian fellowship and service to Mt. Zion. A grand undertaking may be resurfacing the church's parking lot. For all events, we will strive to dispel the myth that the UMM is only for a select group of men over 50 with at least twenty years of church membership. The UMM is for all men and boys of Mt. Zion!
