When John Wesley began the Methodist Societies, he determined that all who join should subscribe to "a desire to flee from the wrath to come, and to be saved from their sins." He established general rules or standards by which we United Methodists are still expected to live. Dr. Connar presents a sermon series that speaks to these denominational and theological expectations: Doing No Harm, Doing Good, and Attending to God.
"It is therefore expected of all who continue therein that they should continue to evidence their desire of salvation. First, by doing no harm, by avoiding evil of every kind, especially that which is most generally practiced."
Scripture - Colossians 3: 5 - 15
"By being in every kind merciful after their power; as they have opportunity, doing good of every possible sort, and as far as possible, to all men."
Scripture - Colossians 3: 5 - 15
We need to give constant, deep, sincere attention to the presence of God in our lives!
